Guest of Earth

Dishu (地书, "ground writing") is a Chinese folk practice in which people write calligraphy on public pavement with water, leaving words that disappear as they evaporate. I practice Dishu in public squares across New York City and San Francisco, inviting passersby to write together before the words vanish.
